Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking an Assistant Produce Manager to help customers make healthy food choices by delivering excellent service and leading one of the store's busiest teams. You will support the Produce Manager with merchandising, inventory, and staff development in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes teamwork, safety compliance, and maintaining freshness across the department, with opportunities for growth and a focus on high-quality produce and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age and have a basic knowledge of math, weights and measures.
• Be dependable and reliable with flexible schedule including night, weekends, and holidays.
• Have outgoing and friendly behavior; a positive attitude and ability to interact with customers.
• Have good communication skills; ability to take direction and work in a team.
• Perform housekeeping, clean and sanitize work area as needed.
• Adhere to safety, health, Weights and Measures regulations including COOL, and obtain Food Handlers permit.
• Ability to stand/walk/bend/climb and lift up to 50 lbs., for extended periods.
• Ability to operate a pallet jack and move pallets up to 20 feet.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Produce Manager in managing and merchandising the department for productivity and profit.
• Oversee ordering, inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Produce team.
• Coordinate merchandising and sales through planning, direction, and teamwork.
• Maintain freshness standards through receiving, processing, packaging, pricing, signage, displaying, and rotation of items.
• Assist in leading a team to deliver high-quality product and customer service.
• Assist in hiring, teaching, and training the Produce team.
• Unload store deliveries and maintain produce equipment.
• Enforce company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and ensure team compliance.
