Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking an Assistant Produce Manager in a fast-paced store environment. You will assist the Produce Manager with merchandising, ordering, and supervising the Produce team to deliver fresh, high-quality produce and excellent customer service.

You will lead by example, hire and train staff, and ensure safety and sanitation standards are met while maintaining a welcoming shopping experience for customers.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age with basic math, weights and measures.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Outgoing, friendly demeanor and ability to interact with customers.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs; operate produce equipment.
• Adhere to safety, health, and sanitation guidelines; obtain Food Handlers permit.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Produce Manager in merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit.
• Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Produce team.
• Coordinate merchandising and sales through planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork.
• Maintain freshness standards through proper receiving, processing, pricing, signage, displaying, and rotation of items.
• Lead a team that brainstorms to deliver high-quality product and great customer experience.
• Assist in hiring, teaching, training, and developing the Produce team.
• Unload deliveries and operate/maintain produce equipment.
• Ensure compliance with company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
