Job summary

You will participate in hiring decisions, oversee scheduling, and uphold company standards in safety and appearance. Responsibilities include directing receiving, storing, and display of produce, maintaining inventories, and reporting to the store manager.

Qualifications

• Flexible scheduling including mornings, afternoons, evenings, nights.
• Willing to work weekends and holidays.
• Understanding of department operations: managing people, merchandising, computer assisted ordering, inventory management, shrink control, customer services, labor scheduling, expense control.
• Knowledge of produce and preparation and general store operations.
• Strong written and verbal communication with employees, customers, and supervision.
• Ability to make quick, intelligent decisions.
• Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and positively influence associates and customers.
• Ability to follow directions and resolve issues.

Responsibilities

• Direct the overall operations of the produce department, including receiving, storing, pricing, and merchandising of all produce products.
• Ensure adequate stock and supplies by proper ordering to maintain optimum inventories.
• Direct the scheduling and utilization of full- and part-time staff for maximum efficiency.
• Supervise salad bar operations and maintain cleanliness and appearance of the department.
• Maintain records and reports and communicate with store personnel.
• Promote and implement company initiatives and process improvements to direct reports.
• Maintain honesty, integrity, and professional conduct in all interactions.
• May take charge of store operations in the absence of the store manager.
