Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a Produce Department Manager to lead daily operations, ensure product quality and freshness, and drive sales goals. You will manage scheduling, coaching, and promotional activities while maintaining a safe, welcoming store environment for customers.

The role requires strong communication, basic math skills, and a food handler permit. Prior produce/retail experience is a plus, and a HS diploma or GED is preferred.

• Develop adequate scheduling to manage customer volume.
• Train and develop associates on performance and participate in evaluations.
• Create an environment where customers feel welcome and informed about products.
• Inform customers of specials and offer samples to help discover new items.
• Review products for quality and freshness and take appropriate action.
• Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve results.
• Coordinate promotions with store management and educate staff on in-store promotions.
• Prepare seasonal critiques for the sales and merchandising supervisor.
• Assist in budgeting, expense control, and financial reporting for the department.
• Schedule price changes and manage inventory processes.
