Job summary

Kroger Co. is seeking a Produce Department Supervisor to create outstanding customer experiences, maintain a safe, clean shopping environment and meet sales goals.

You will monitor department activities, train associates, manage scheduling and implement promotions with store leadership. Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates with a positive attitude.
• Communicate information to associates.
• Establish department goals and empower associates to meet targets.
• Develop adequate scheduling to manage customer volume.
• Train associates on performance and participate in appraisals.
• Create welcoming environment and assist customers with products.
• Inform customers of produce specials and offer samples.
• Review products for quality and freshness; take action as needed.
• Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve results.
• Create and execute sales promotions with store management.
• Inform associates about in-store promotions.
• Prepare seasonal critiques for the sales and merchandising supervisor.
• Implement the period promotional plan for the department.
• Assist management with budget, expense control, and financial reports.
• Schedule price changes and update shelf tags.
• Plan and organize inventory and CAO processes.
• Ensure proper temperatures and maintain temperature logs.
• Reinforce safety programs and report safety risks.
• Report safety issues and any illegal activity.
• Adhere to laws and company guidelines.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to manage conflicts constructively.
• Honesty and integrity in handling information.
• Follow directions and resolve customer/business issues.
• Provide support for minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.
