Job summary

Price Rite Johnston is seeking an Assistant Produce Manager to lead the Produce department, drive sales, ensure safety, and uphold company standards. The role reports to the Produce Manager, Store Manager, and Assistant Store Manager, focusing on staffing, training, and daily operations.

You will oversee 10–15 associates, manage inventory, merchandising, and store conditions, and participate in community events.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or 1–2 years related experience or equivalent education.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively in reports and presentations to groups.
• Strong math abilities including discounts, percentages and measurements.
• Ability to read, understand, and apply written instructions and policies.
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift as required in a retail setting.

Responsibilities

• Train associates and supervise 10–15 staff; plan, assign and direct work.
• Maintain store conditions to improve profitability and presentation.
• Maximize department sales and controls; ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Develop team morale and cross-training.
• Ensure proper merchandising and inventory control.
• Open/close store as needed and manage daily duties.
