Job summary

Price Rite of READING is seeking an Assistant Produce Manager to lead daily operations in the Produce department. You will supervise 10–15 associates, train staff, and drive sales while safeguarding company assets and maintaining store standards.

The role requires an Associate degree or equivalent, strong reading/writing skills, math ability, and effective communication to support safety rules and procedures. This position offers opportunities for long-term growth.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent from a two‑year college or university.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to write routine reports and speak before groups of customers or associates.
• Ability to perform basic math including discounts, interest, and proportions.
• Ability to apply algebra and geometry in daily tasks.
• Ability to communicate clearly and handle routine tasks with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Supervise 10–15 subordinates; train staff and direct work activities.
• Maintain store conditions to improve profitability and presentation.
• Maximize department sales and protect company assets.
• Develop a team concept to improve morale and operations.
• Ensure proper merchandising, productivity, and payroll goals.
• Uphold customer service standards and sanitation requirements.
• Open or close the store as needed and ensure safe equipment use.
