Job summary

Daimler Truck North America is seeking motivated interns to support the Procurement team across the US, including Portland, OR. You will gain hands-on experience analyzing raw material spend, supplier performance, and end-to-end supply chain processes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

As an intern, you’ll apply Lean/Six Sigma principles, assist in developing SOPs for purchase order management, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive cost savings and process improvements

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in a bachelor’s program or higher in a related field.
• Degree majors preferred: Supply Chain or related field.
• Experience using Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis, charts).
• Familiarity with ERP systems and data visualization tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data.
• Interest in procurement, sourcing, and continuous improvement.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused mindset.
• Ability to analyze processes and identify inefficiencies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct data analysis on raw material spend, lead times, and supplier metrics.
• Support lean and process improvement initiatives within purchasing workflows.
• Develop and refine SOPs for PO management and inventory coordination.
• Participate in cross-functional projects to optimize end-to-end supply chain.
• Perform market research to support better sourcing decisions.
• Contribute to cost-saving initiatives and risk mitigation strategies.
