Job summary

Daimler Truck North America in Portland, OR is seeking a Procurement and Supply Chain Intern to support the stamping, fabrication and raw materials teams. The hybrid role offers hands-on experience in data analysis, supplier performance, and lean process improvements within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will work on cross-functional projects, develop SOPs for purchase order management, and contribute to cost-saving initiatives while learning strategic sourcing and end-to-end supply

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s program or recently graduated within 1 year.
• Degree major in Supply Chain or related field preferred.
• Strong Excel and data analytics skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in identifying, analyzing, and implementing process enhancements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve supplier performance within procurement.
• Conduct data analysis on raw material spend, lead times, and supplier metrics.
• Support lean and process improvement initiatives (Kaizen events, value stream mapping, 5S) within purchasing workflows.
• Develop and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) for purchase order management and inventory coordination.
• Participate in cross-functional projects to optimize the end-to-end raw material supply chain.
• Perform market research and benchmarking to support sourcing decisions.
• Contribute to cost-saving initiatives and risk mitigation strategies.
• Lead and support efforts to foster an inclusive and welcoming workplace culture where everyone belongs
