Job summary

Daimler Truck North America in Portland, OR offers a summer internship to motivated students in procurement. You will analyze supplier data, support process improvements, and help optimize sourcing and purchasing workflows.

You will gain hands-on experience with data analysis, supplier performance, lean manufacturing principles, and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This internship may lead to full-time opportunities based on performance.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in a bachelor’s program or higher or have graduated within 1 year of start date.
• Degree majors preferred: Supply Chain or related field.
• Experience with Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP) and data visualization tools.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce costs within procurement.
• Analyze raw material spend, lead times, and supplier metrics to drive improvements.
• Support lean and process improvement initiatives in purchasing workflows.
• Develop SOPs for PO management and inventory coordination.
• Collaborate on cross-functional projects to optimize the end-to-end raw material supply chain.
