Daimler Truck North America is offering a summer internship in Procurement and Supply Chain in Portland, OR. You will gain real-life learning opportunities while upholding our core values and exploring how strategic sourcing decisions drive cost, quality, and delivery.

As a participant, you’ll support steering-related parts procurement for new product projects such as autonomous vehicles, with hybrid in-office and remote work.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program or recently graduated within 1 year of start date
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, including data analysis and presentation development
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for stakeholders and cross-functional teams
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and maintain detail

Responsibilities

• Support sourcing and procurement activities for steering-related components, including supplier evaluations and strategic sourcing
• Develop and analyze supplier quotes, cost proposals, and commercial data to support recommendations
• Identify and onboard new suppliers while ensuring DTNA procurement standards
• Prepare presentations, reports and business cases for stakeholder meetings
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and supplier management teams
• Assist in resolving commercial and supplier-related issues with internal stakeholders and suppliers
• Analyze supplier and market data to identify cost-savings and process improvements
• Contribute to procurement projects supporting current production and future vehicle programs
• Lead and promote an inclusive workplace culture where everyone belongs
