Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking a Purchasing Agent to support its growing portfolio of projects. The role involves working closely with Procurement, Executive, Engineering, Sales, and Manufacturing teams to ensure timely and high-quality procurement for complex programs.

Responsibilities include planning during bidding, vendor prequalification, RFP development, contract negotiations, and post-award plan execution. Strong communication and Microsoft Office skills are essential, withTravel to project sites

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
• Experience sourcing, negotiating contracts with Original Equipment Manufacturers, construction /specialty trade subcontractors and fabricators.
• Proven written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint and Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with accounting principles.
• Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Procurement planning during the bidding phase.
• Sourcing, identifying, and prequalifying vendors; developing comprehensive RFPs.
• Negotiating and finalizing supplier agreements.
• Post award, managing plan implementation.
• Transferring bid phase documents and knowledge to the project team; coordinating with engineering.
• Understanding, evaluating, and incorporating market conditions into procurement plans.
