Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a procurement professional in Brownsville, Texas to form and administer purchase orders, prepare bidder lists, qualify bidders, and issue bid requests for complex projects. You will participate in negotiations, secure approvals, and coordinate with suppliers to meet project needs.

Responsibilities include preparing bid summaries, committing purchase orders, and ensuring adherence to PO requirements.

Qualifications

Knowledge of business administration procedures, techniques, and business ethics.
Skilled in oral and written communication.
Experience in materials handling on site is desirable.
Knowledge of Uniform Commercial Code or host nation's equivalent.
Knowledge of the legal and commercial aspects of procurement.

Responsibilities

Communicates with Engineering to assist and/or guide them in the preparation of material requisitions for the procurement of materials and equipment and to achieve the understanding needed to process these requisitions
Forms bid packages and issues bid requests; coordinates bidders' questions; and receives bidder proposals
Prepares Commercial Bid Summary and recommendations to award
Prepares and commits purchase orders within their authority
Communicates with suppliers and Bechtel personnel to establish clear definition of requirements and to assure supplier performance to the obligations within the purchase order
Identifies, defines, and secures agreement regarding purchase order changes
