Job summary

Bechtel Corporation in Houston, TX is seeking a Procurement Specialist to support formation and administration of purchase orders for complex projects in a highly regulated environment.

You will prepare bidders' lists, qualify bidders, form bid packages, issue bid requests, participate in negotiations, and monitor supplier performance to meet project needs and ensure compliance with PO requirements.

Qualifications

• Proven knowledge of procurement and purchasing principles including requisition processing and contract compliance.
• Ability to evaluate supplier quotations, analyze pricing and commercial terms to optimize cost, quality and schedule.
• Experience with enterprise procurement systems and purchasing workflows, including PO creation, approvals, and record keeping.

Responsibilities

• Prepares bidders' lists and qualifies bidders
• Communicates with Engineering to assist with material requisitions for procurement
• Forms bid packages and issues bid requests, coordinates questions and receives bids
• Prepares Commercial Bid Summary and recommendations to award
• Communicates with suppliers and Bechtel personnel to define requirements and ensure PO compliance
• Identifies and agrees on PO changes
• Initiates and processes PO revisions affecting scope, cost, and schedule
