Job description

We are seeking an experienced Project Procurement Specialist to support the successful delivery of large capital projects. This role is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and coordinating the purchase of materials, equipment, and construction-related services while keeping project schedules, commercial objectives, quality standards, and risk considerations aligned.

The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, construction, project management, suppliers, and external EPC partners to help ensure procurement activities are executed efficiently and deliver strong value throughout the project lifecycle. This is a hands‑on role for someone who is comfortable managing competing priorities, resolving issues quickly, and operating with sound judgment in a fast-moving project environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with engineering, construction, project management, and other internal stakeholders to forecast project needs and align procurement plans with key project milestones.
  • Support the sourcing, evaluation, negotiation, and acquisition of equipment, materials, and construction services for capital projects.
  • Provide procurement oversight for EPC contractors, including review of sourcing strategies, bid packages, supplier selection, commercial evaluations, negotiations, expediting efforts, and overall procurement performance.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, strengthen supplier performance, reduce risk, and increase the value delivered through project spending.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies, project requirements, applicable industry standards, and safety expectations.
  • Review and help enforce required contract flow-down provisions to ensure alignment with customer, project, and organizational requirements.
  • Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, logistics, and project teams to track material status, support delivery planning, and resolve issues involving shortages, damaged goods, delayed shipments, or other supply‑chain disruptions.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and subcontractors; monitor performance and address quality, delivery, or service concerns as they arise.
  • Collaborate with procurement, legal, and project stakeholders to review commercial terms and conditions and help minimize contractual and project risk.
  • Stay informed on market trends, supplier capabilities, emerging technologies, and sourcing alternatives that may improve cost, quality, delivery, or total project value.
  • Apply lifecycle cost analysis, commercial evaluations, and process‑improvement methods to support sound procurement decisions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, construction management, or a related discipline preferred. Equivalent relevant experience may be considered in place of a degree.
  • At least five years of relevant procurement experience, ideally supporting engineering, construction, industrial, or capital‑project environments.
  • Prior experience working within or alongside an EPC organization is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of procurement practices including RFQs, RFPs, bid analysis, supplier negotiations, expediting, contract terms, and material coordination.
  • Proficiency with SAP, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other standard Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Comfortable working independently, taking initiative, and making timely, well‑reasoned decisions with limited direction.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across technical, commercial, and operational teams.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, responsiveness, and customer focus.
  • Adaptable and confident in environments with changing priorities, incomplete information, or evolving project needs.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, practical innovation, and constructive change management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in business administration, supply chain, engineering, or a related field.
  • CPSM, PMP, or similar professional certification.
