Job summary

Melwood is seeking a Procurement Manager to lead the Procurement Department and a small support team. You will oversee vendor sourcing, price analyses, RFQs, and bid responses, while ensuring regulatory compliance and accurate recordkeeping in Unanet.

You will develop department workflows, coordinate with Operations and Finance on sourcing, accounts payable, and sustainable procurement, and partner with Contract Administration to drive cost savings and supply continuity.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of combined experience in Procurement/ Accounting/ Finance/ Contracts/ Business or related field with a Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software applications and high attention to detail for data entry, updating, and managing the Unanet procurement system.
• Must be able to work 5 days per week M-F (occasional nights and weekends) and in-office a minimum of 3 days per week.
• Knowledge of procurement best practices, sourcing, RFQs, pricing analysis, vendor selection, databases, accounts payable processes, reporting, and government contracting regulations.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and executes authorized purchases from vendors; performs price and market research.
• Maintains procurement databases in Unanet; catalogs products, SKUs, pricing, and generates Purchase Requisitions.
• Collaborates with Operations/Program Management, Contracting, Finance, and Subcontracting on procurement requirements.
• Conducts RFQs, competitive bids, and bid analysis.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and tracks pricing/reporting for sustainability initiatives.
• Coordinates with Finance and Fleet Management on vehicle purchases.
