Job summary

The Department of Juvenile Justice seeks a Buyer Specialist to support procurement activities, ensuring timely, compliant, and cost-effective acquisitions to sustain agency operations.

The role handles fleet needs, surplus processing, and office supply management, including eVA purchases and coordination with VITA contracts, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.

Candidates will manage telecommunication requests, maintain inventory records, and support end users with policy-compliant processes.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of DGS Fleet Management Policies and Procedures.
• Knowledge of State & Federal Surplus Property Policies and Procedures.
• Computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Ability to learn fleet management software, Electronic Virginia (eVA) and VITA work order processes.

Responsibilities

• Support procurement activities to ensure timely, compliant, and cost-effective acquisitions.
• Assist with fleet-related issues: Voyager Cards, mileage, fuel, and maintenance, and maintain vehicle inventory.
• Process surplus requests and guide the surplus process with appropriate forms.
• Process office supplies to replenish the storeroom and manage the Central Office storeroom.
