Job summary

AMEWAS, Inc. is actively seeking a Procurement Associate‑Journeyman to support Electromagnetic Environmental Effects. The role handles procurement from requests to orders with on‑site work in MD, and a salary range of $62,900 to $75,300, commensurate with experience.

The position requires DoD Secret Clearance and prior experience in government contracting, with strong Excel and vendor coordination skills to ensure compliant, timely purchasing and documentation in Costpoint.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent
• 3 years of purchasing/procurement experience in a government contracting/defense environment
• Experience with Deltek Costpoint and purchase orders
• Experience processing high volumes of purchase orders and vendor follow‑up
• Advanced Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP)
• Experience with shipping, receiving, and inventory control
• Maintain procurement records with accuracy and confidentiality
• DoD Secret Clearance (current or ability to obtain)
• U.S. Citizenship required for all clearances

Responsibilities

• Manage a variety of procurement activities from purchase requests to order completion
• Communicate with management, internal customers, and vendors on status, pricing, and delivery schedules
• Prepare and issue purchase orders
• Obtain and evaluate vendor quotes
• Prepare high‑dollar, complex purchasing packages per policies and regulations
• Monitor funding against contracts and requirements
• Document receipt in Costpoint and ensure data accuracy
• Track open POs and follow up with vendors to resolve issues
• Answer inquiries and assist with procurement questions
• Prioritize actions and maintain documentation to meet deadlines
• Support procurement department operations
