Job summary

Pellissippi State Community College seeks a Testing Technician II (Temporary Part-Time) to support the Testing Center across multiple campus sites, including Blount County, Hardin Valley, and Strawberry Plains.

Responsibilities include administering tests, ensuring security, assisting with proctoring, and coordinating with faculty. The role requires a high school diploma, basic computer skills, and excellent customer service and organizational abilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with computer equipment and office-related skills.
• Certification training and exams must be completed prior to administering tests that requires such certification (HISET, CLEP, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Test Administration: operate testing centers, check in students, manage tests and materials, monitor examination conditions.
• Maintain security and proper handling of testing materials and procedures.
• Prepare incident reports documenting irregularities or dishonesty; forward to faculty and Test Supervisor.
• Collaborate with faculty on test revisions, availability, and testing options; advise staff on test delivery procedures.
• Explain testing requirements to students and resolve misunderstandings with customer service approaches.
• Interpret and apply procedures for proctored tests from various institutions; accommodate different test formats (paper/pencil, computer-based, online).
• Maintain an optimal testing environment aligned with college, standard, and NCTA standards.
• Provide information and guidance to testing staff about test delivery and policy.
• Perform office duties: answer phones, schedule tests, prepare deposits, create test schedules, scan and file documents, etc.
• Other duties as needed; note that job duties may change.
