Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in New York, NY seeks a Processing Technician for the Central Processing Unit (Days) to support lab technologists in delivering timely, accurate test results.

Responsibilities include registering patients, processing requisitions, accessioning samples, collecting specimens by venipuncture, centrifuging, aliquoting, labeling, and distributing specimens to the appropriate lab sections. On-site role with weekends/holidays rotation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2 years experience in specimen processing.
• Prior data entry experience.

Bring your talents to our tight-knit team, and provide the support our laboratory technologists need to complete tests that drive high-quality care and caring. Register patients, process requisition forms and perform accessioning functions. Collect patient specimens through venipuncture and other methods. Conduct centrifugation. Separate samples into aliquots. Label specimens, and distribute them to appropriate laboratory sections for testing.

This position is from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, including alternate weekends and rotating holidays.

Required Criteria

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2 years experience in specimen processing
• Prior data entry experience
