Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in New York, NY seeks a Senior Laboratory Technologist for Central Labs/Chemistry on a day shift. The role is on-site at the Weill Cornell Medical Center campus in Manhattan.

You will supervise lab personnel, train technologists, and participate in problem-solving while maintaining QA/QC standards. Requires NYS licensure, a bachelor’s in medical technology, and 2+ years in Transfusion Medicine; ASCP certification is preferred.

• New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure from the New York Education department.
• ASCP certification preferred.
• Minimum of two years' experience in Transfusion Medicine.

Description

Take the next step in your career and join the team as a Senior Laboratory Technologist. In addition to technical responsibilities you will assume some supervision and coordination of the activities of the laboratory personnel in the performance of quantitative and qualitative test. Here, you will have the ability to train and guide laboratory technologist, participate in problem-solving processes and maintain quality assurance and quality control standards, among other responsibilities.

This is a full-time day shift position 8:00am-4:00pm including rotating weekends and holidays, located at our NewYork-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center campus on Manhattan's upper East side.

Preferred Criteria

• 6 years of experience as a Laboratory Technologist
• ASCP certification

Required Criteria

• A minimum of two years' experience in Transfusion Medicine
• A bachelor’s degree in medical technology (or equivalent experience)
• New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure from the New York Education department
