Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center in New York, NY is seeking a Processing Technician for the Evening Shift in the Automated Laboratory. You will support laboratory technologists by handling specimen processing, requisitions, accessioning, and sample labeling.

This on-site role requires registering patients, collecting specimens via venipuncture, performing centrifugation, and distributing samples to testing areas to ensure accurate, timely processing.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2 years experience in specimen processing.
• Prior data entry experience.

Bring your talents to our tight-knit team, and provide the support our laboratory technologists need to complete tests that drive high-quality care and caring. Register patients, process requisition forms and perform accessioning functions. Collect patient specimens through venipuncture and other methods. Conduct centrifugation. Separate samples into aliquots. Label specimens, and distribute them to appropriate laboratory sections for testing.

Processing Techs on Evenings (4:00pm - 12:00am) plus alternate weekends and rotating holidays

Required Criteria

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2 years experience in specimen processing
• Prior data entry experience

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP. NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.

Salary Range

$31.98-$39.20/Hourly
