Job summary

Process Safety & Chemical Manufacturing is seeking a Process Technology Manager to lead the site engineering function, drive CAPEX priorities, and deliver safe, reliable, cost-efficient manufacturing. You will coach production and project engineers while managing budgets, scopes, and schedules.

Responsibilities include strengthening process safety via MOC/PHAs/HAZOPs, performing root-ccause analyses, and guiding startups and shutdowns to improve yield and reliability.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in a PSM-covered chemical facility and leadership of engineers.
• Experience with CAPEX planning, project execution, MOC, and incident investigation.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs and engineering specifications.
• Experience with batch and continuous processes is preferred.

Our client, Process Safety & Chemical Manufacturing is seeking a Process Technology Manager to join their team. As a Process Technology Manager, you will be part of the Site Engineering function supporting plant operations, reliability, and disciplined project execution. The ideal candidate will have strong technical judgment, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver measurable improvements in reliability, productivity, and cost.

What's the Job?

• Lead the site engineering function at a Process Safety Management (PSM) chemical plant, defining and driving annual and multiyear CAPEX priorities.
• Provide technical direction, organizational support, and coaching to production and project engineers while balancing day-to-day production support with long-term improvements.
• Own and execute the site capital plan—develop project scopes, estimates, business cases, approval requests, and oversee budgets, schedules, risks, and contractors.
• Strengthen process safety through engineering support for Management of Change (MOC), PHAs/HAZOPs, pre-startup safety reviews, and closure of recommendations and audit findings.
• Drive production support and reliability improvements by guiding troubleshooting, ensuring rigorous root cause analyses, partnering on mechanical integrity, and supporting operating procedures, training, and startups/shutdowns.

What's Needed?

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Significant chemical manufacturing experience, including work in a PSM-covered facility and leadership of engineers or multidisciplinary technical teams.
• Demonstrated capability in production troubleshooting, CAPEX planning, project execution, MOC, process hazard analysis, and incident investigation.
• Strong technical judgment, organizational skills, communication, and financial awareness; ability to interpret P&IDs and engineering specifications.
• Experience with batch and continuous processes, reaction systems, separations, utilities, and process controls preferred.
