Job summary

ManpowerGroup is seeking a Process Technology Manager for a Process Safety & Chemical Manufacturing client in Memphis, TN. You will lead the site engineering function, drive CAPEX priorities, provide technical direction, and oversee budgets, schedules, risks, and contractors to deliver reliable operations.

You will strengthen process safety through MOC, PHAs/HAZOPs, pre-startup safety reviews, and continuous improvements in yield, energy use, and cost.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• Experience leading engineers or multidisciplinary technical teams in a PSM‑covered facility.
• Strong capability in production troubleshooting, CAPEX planning, project execution, MOC, PHAs/HAZOPs, and incident investigation.

Our client, Process Safety & Chemical Manufacturing is seeking a Process Technology Manager to join their team. As a Process Technology Manager, you will be part of the Site Engineering function supporting plant operations, reliability, and disciplined project execution. The ideal candidate will have strong technical judgement, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to lead cross‑functional teams to deliver measurable improvements in reliability, productivity, and cost.

What's the Job?

• Lead the site engineering function at a Process Safety Management (PSM) chemical plant, defining and driving annual and multiyear CAPEX priorities.
• Provide technical direction, organizational support, and coaching to production and project engineers while balancing day‑to‑day production support with long‑term improvements.
• Own and execute the site capital plan—develop project scopes, estimates, business cases, approval requests, and oversee budgets, schedules, risks, and contractors.
• Strengthen process safety through engineering support for Management of Change (MOC), PHAs/HAZOPs, pre‑startup safety reviews, and closure of recommendations and audit findings.
• Drive production support and reliability improvements by guiding troubleshooting, ensuring rigorous root cause analyses, partnering on mechanical integrity, and supporting operating procedures, training, and startups/shutdowns.

What's Needed?

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Significant chemical manufacturing experience, including work in a PSM‑covered facility and leadership of engineers or multidisciplinary technical teams.
• Demonstrated capability in production troubleshooting, CAPEX planning, project execution, MOC, process hazard analysis, and incident investigation.
• Strong technical judgment, organizational skills, communication, and financial awareness; ability to interpret P&IDs and engineering specifications.
• Experience with batch and continuous processes, reaction systems, separations, utilities, and process controls preferred.
