Job summary

OxyChem is seeking a PSM Engineer for the Battleground Plant in LaPorte, TX to own Process Safety Management, Risk Management Plan and Responsible Care programs. You will develop, implement, and maintain policies aligned with OCC and OVLP expectations to protect people and the environment.

You will lead audits, track action plans, manage contractor support, and coordinate with site management and corporate teams to drive continuous improvement in safety performance and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering is required.
• 5-10 years of plant process, maintenance, or project engineering experience.
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA, RMP, Responsible Care, and company process safety standards.
• Physical requirements include lifting 40 lbs and wearing PPE.

Responsibilities

• Maintain protection of environment and health and safety as priority.
• Develop and issue annual PSM, RMP, and RC activity plans.
• Perform formal and informal audits of PSM, RMP, and RC elements.
• Coordinate with HES Risk Engineering and Insurance on technical issues.
