Job summary

OxyChem seeks an experienced Production Superintendent for the Battleground/La Porte plant to oversee safe, reliable, and efficient production across all process areas. You will direct Process Supervisors and production support staff to achieve safety, environmental, quality, cost and production objectives while developing the workforce and supporting continuous improvement.

Qualifications

B.S. in Engineering (preferably Chemical) with 5+ years of plant process experience.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Ability to read, write and speak English clearly.
Respond to off-hour emergencies; callouts on non-routine basis.
Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork; able to work weekends/holidays.
Physical ability to lift 40 lbs and wear PPE including respirator.

Responsibilities

Lead Production Supervisors and staff to meet safety, environmental, quality and production objectives.
Develop and execute operating plans for safe, efficient and reliable production.
Coordinate maintenance, outages and capital projects with Maintenance and Engineering.
Ensure compliance with policies, inspections, and training; manage shutdowns and start-ups.
Provide coaching, performance feedback and succession planning for the production team.
