Job summary

DEKRA North America, Inc. seeks a General Manager, Process Safety Testing to lead the Princeton laboratory, drive P&L performance, and build a strong safety culture.

You will develop leaders, manage a high‑performing team, and coordinate with Sales, Marketing, Consulting, and shared services to deliver exceptional customer outcomes. This role emphasizes accountability, continuous improvement, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering, chemistry or related field.
• 10+ years in process safety testing or lab operations with personnel leadership.
• Experience leading operations or laboratories with P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning responsibilities.
• Strong ability to use data and operational metrics to improve business performance.
• Knowledge of hazardous laboratory operations and related safety requirements.
• Proven track record of cross-functional collaboration across Sales, Marketing, Finance, HR, IT, and global teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the Princeton site P&L, annual operating plan, forecasts, capital priorities, and performance against revenue, margin, and budget.
• Lead the site growth plan by aligning market opportunities, pricing, capacity, staffing, and investment decisions; identify risks and propose solutions.
• Provide on-site leadership for daily laboratory operations with clear ownership and escalation paths.
• Establish and monitor operating metrics for safety, quality, turnaround time, backlog, throughput, and financial performance.
• Drive standard work and continuous improvement across inquiry, test selection, quoting, project setup, scheduling, execution, reporting, invoicing, and collections handoffs.
• Implement digital or AI-enabled improvements to reduce rework, shorten cycle time, and improve customer experience.
• Ensure preventive maintenance, repair, reliability, calibration, spare-parts and capital replacement plans for critical equipment.
• Coordinate vendors and global technical resources to match staffing with demand and build scalable capacity.
