Job summary

Dow in Texas City seeks a Process Operator - Represented/Tariff to monitor plant control systems, operate valves, and ensure safe production. The role requires strong diagnostic skills, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to train others while rotating across shifts.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or higher, plus relevant manufacturing experience or military technical background; forklift certification and US work authorization are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with college algebra (1 semester), science (4 semesters) and 2 communication classes.
• Military service in technical specialty (3+ years) in lieu of a degree.
• 5+ years manufacturing experience as Production Technician/Operator with strong technical, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• U.S. drivers license and forklift certification upon hire.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends and holidays, and English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Operate basic control systems to monitor levels, temps, pressures and flow rates.
• Lift hoses and operate valves; clear and isolate equipment as needed.
• Follow procedures for safe and efficient operation of duties.
• Control, monitor, and adjust control systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot process, product quality, safety and environmental issues; identify maintenance needs.
• Provide guidance to other Operators/Technicians; prioritize tasks.
• Complete required paperwork and maintain records; communicate with transportation providers.
• Perform daily sample analysis and calibration of analytical equipment.
• Make independent decisions based on analytical data; participate in emergency response as needed.
