Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer — Precision Aerospace Machining in Riverton, CT, onsite. The role defines methods, planning, fixturing, materials, and inspection approaches while coordinating with outside vendors and production on development projects. Salary is $90,000 to $130,000 per year.

You'll model with NX CAD, develop fixtures, and program NC toolpaths using Mastercam or Unigraphics. A Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of related experience is required, with GD&T and interpretation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of related experience/training, or equivalent combination.
• Proficiency with GD&T, technical drawings, and NC programming using Mastercam or Unigraphics.
• Broad knowledge of machine tools and their capabilities for properly routing precision components.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret manufacturing drawings, technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
• Ability to respond to inquiries from employees, regulatory agencies, and the business community.

Responsibilities

• Determine manufacturing methods, planning and sequencing, fixturing, raw materials, and inspection methods; define work performed by outside vendors
• Provide detailed quotes for precision-machined components
• Take a hands-on role in the manufacturing process of development projects alongside production
• Provide process engineering support to production, ensuring accurate and detailed manufacturing process instructions and feedback
• Apply job standards to Engineering master routings for shop work
• Input routing data into the database to calculate operation times and document detailed procedures for each manufacturing operation
• Use CAD (NX) software to sketch blueprints, operation sheets, and set-up sheets for internal and outside vendors; develop fixtures and processes
• Program NC toolpaths using Mastercam or Unigraphics
• Multi-task across concurrent development and production support priorities

• Proficiency with GD&T, technical drawings, and NC programming using Mastercam or Unigraphics
• Broad knowledge of machine tools and their capabilities for properly routing precision components
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret manufacturing drawings, technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
• Ability to respond to inquiries from employees, regulatory agencies, and the business community

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience programming CNC VTL & milling machines, including set-up and first-part runs to release development to production; tool room experience
• Experience using PPAP to evaluate incoming jobs
