Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager for aerospace programs in Riverton, CT. This on-site role leads a team of manufacturing engineers, driving Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement on high-precision aerospace components.

You will develop manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and boost throughput, while supporting NPI and production readiness. Cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Quality, and Program Management is essential, with a minimum

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or related field).
  • Minimum 7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience within aerospace, precision machining, or advanced manufacturing.
  • Minimum 3+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams.
  • Strong background in CNC machining, aerospace manufacturing processes, tooling, and process development.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and aerospace specifications.
  • Experience supporting AS9100 quality systems.
  • Proven project management and organizational ability.
  • U.S. Person status (ITAR requirement) — hard screen.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of manufacturing engineers and technical staff.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes that improve efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize throughput.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and production readiness activities.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Program Management.
  • Analyze production data and implement corrective actions to improve KPIs.
  • Oversee process documentation, work instructions, routings, and manufacturing standards.
  • Lead capital equipment and automation projects from concept through implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace quality requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective action activities.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational improvement.
  • Champion a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS

Needed (Required):

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or related field)
