Job summary

Corning is seeking a process engineer focused on reducing defects by identifying root causes and partnering with suppliers to improve performance. You will apply DMAIC and advanced statistics to drive cost, quality, uptime, yield, cycle time, and safety improvements.

The role requires evaluating new materials, equipment, and parameters, while documenting SOPs and process changes across Corning divisions and R&D teams.

Qualifications

• BS in chemical, materials, ceramic, mechanical engineering, or computer science.
• 0–5 years’ experience in engineering/manufacturing.
• Rigorous problem solving; proficient in process control/analysis techniques.
• Experience completing manufacturing projects with data-driven decisions.

Responsibilities

• Design or improve processes at Corning facilities worldwide.
• Solve problems using structured methods (KT, DOE, Six Sigma).
• Implement Process Control and Process Discipline systems.
• Analyze process data with statistical tools (Pareto, regression, ANOVA, gauge R&R).
• Measure performance and recommend immediate or long-term actions.
• Document processes and train operators on defined processes.
