Job summary

Jobtailor in United States (Alabama) seeks a skilled engineer to design, maintain, and optimize regional sterilization processes, while leading data-driven improvements and 24/7 on-call support. You will monitor OEE, KPI trends, and participate in cross-functional initiatives with QA and maintenance teams.

The role requires an engineering degree, 2+ years in similar settings, CAD experience, and strong problem-solving abilities. Onsite work with safety training provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Chemical, Mechanical or Industrial).
• 2+ years of relevant engineering and equipment experience.
• Strong mathematical aptitude including geometry, trigonometry, and exponents.
• Excellent problem-solving and logical reasoning abilities.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and instructions.
• Effective communication skills for presenting information to colleagues and stakeholders.
• Ability to read and write in Basic English.
• Must be available for Engineering on call activities.
• Experience within a PSM (Process Safety Management) regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
• CAD experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, maintain, and improve regional sterilization processes.
• Implement, maintain, and improve process operations, process data gathering, and maintenance document control processes.
• Identify and implement process improvements to reduce non-conformances and events.
• Monitor equipment uptime, KPI, OEE goals, cost improvement, and lean activities.
• Maintain and enhance sterilization process systems while tracking key performance indicators.
• Update department procedures and ISO documentation.
• Monitor equipment uptime and sterilization OEE.
• Provide detailed performance reports and trend analysis to management using data analysis tools.
• Train operators and technicians on system usage.
• Manage projects from initiation through completion.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance on equipment/process non-conformances and corrective actions.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call support after initial procedures and on-the-job training.
• Provide remote troubleshooting and coordination while on call.
• Engage maintenance personnel or other team members as needed.
• Attend onsite occasionally during on-call incidents when required.
