Job summary

Jobtailor in the United States seeks a chemical operator to operate production equipment and manufacture chemical batches in compliance with SOPs and safety regulations, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OSHA standards.

You will process, purify, and fabricate products through batch operations, weigh materials, weigh, package, label, collect samples and maintain logs. Must have High School Diploma/GED and 2+ years of relevant experience; shift is 10:00 PM–6:30 AM.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED with 2+ years of applicable experience.
  • Chemical manufacturing experience is highly preferred.
  • Must be able to work 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM.
  • Experience with batch processes in chemical manufacturing.
  • Experience in a clean-room environment is a plus.
  • Forklift certification and Hazardous Waste Operations certification preferable.

Responsibilities

  • Operate production equipment to manufacture chemical batches in compliance with SOPs and safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Process, purify, and chemically fabricate products and compounds through sequential batch operations.
  • Operate reactors, tanks, pumps, mixers, pH meters, level meters, flow meters, valves, and hoses.
  • Handle liquid and solid chemicals using pumps, scales, and flow meters.
  • Weigh, measure, and check raw materials and finished products to verify ingredients, quantities, and inventory accuracy.
  • Perform product weighing, packaging, labeling, and boxing according to SOPs.
  • Collect process samples and coordinate with laboratory personnel for analysis.
  • Maintain batch tickets, packaging sheets, scrubber operation logs, pH meter calibration records, and equipment inspection logs.
  • Attend required HSE training and demonstrate understanding of hazardous waste management, emergency response, and hazard communication.
  • Package, mark, and label hazardous waste containers.
  • Operate equipment and follow procedures according to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OSHA 18001 standards.
  • Maintain housekeeping and 5S standards.
  • Communicate safety, production, quality, and operational issues to the shift leader.
  • Participate in shift meetings, work planning, and continuous improvement.
  • Train other chemical operators as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements


  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent with at least 2 years of applicable experience

  • Chemical manufacturing experience is highly preferred

  • Must be able to work 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM

  • Experience with manufacturing specialty chemicals using batch processes

  • Experience working in a clean-room environment will be a plus

  • Forklift certification and Hazardous Waste Operations certification preferable

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; convey technical information effectively and concisely to engineering, sales, technicians, etc.
