Job summary

Westlake Pipe & Fittings, a Westlake division, seeks a Process Engineer to lead plant output optimization and continuous improvement initiatives at the Greensboro facility. You will develop procedures, analyze data, support capital projects, and drive cost reductions while ensuring safety and quality standards.

The role requires a B.S. in engineering, 3–10 years of manufacturing experience, expertise in high-volume processes, and knowledge of PVC extrusion.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Materials Science Engineering.
• 3–10 years of manufacturing experience.
• Experience with high-volume, continuous manufacturing.
• PVC processing and extrusion experience desirable.
• OT networks, industrial controls and automation knowledge.
• Six Sigma green/black belt and DOE knowledge preferred.
• Must work Monday–Friday, 6:30am–4pm onsite in Greensboro.
• Must be able to commute daily to Greensboro plant; travel 1–4 weeks/year.

Responsibilities

• Lead the manufacturing program for plant output optimization and scrap/downtime reduction.
• Develop and maintain SOP/SOC and training for new products and systems.
• Analyze scrap, downtime, line rates, and material usage; present data-driven insights.
• Reduce process variation to meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Lead cost reduction initiatives through materials, product, and process improvements.
• Apply Lean, Six Sigma, 5S/6S, TPM, Kaizen, VSM, DOEs, FMEA, and other CI tools.
• Update manufacturing standards based on performance improvements.
• Design work cell layouts to optimize material flow and support 5S/visual management.
• Initiate new equipment/technology with scope, RFQ, and execution plans.
