Job summary

Materion is seeking a Process Engineer III in Buffalo, NY to provide engineering leadership under the Director of Process Engineering. The role focuses on process control, troubleshooting, yield and labor efficiency improvements, product quality, and cycle-time reduction.

You will collaborate with operators, maintenance, quality, and planning teams, and pursue opportunities to automate and scale up processes while supporting product development and margin improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering; advanced degree is a plus.
  • 5 - 10 years of process engineering experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Green Belt certification is required or needs to be gained within 2 years from hire date.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead technical teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex assignments / projects.
  • Strong written and presentation skills.
  • Willingness and eagerness to learn, receive, and provide coaching.
  • Demonstrated history of operating with sense of urgency and accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead process control and continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality, throughput, and cost.
  • Provide direction for maintenance and reliability of processing equipment to maintain output.
  • Contribute to product and process development and scale-up activities with T&I and product teams.
  • Support EH&S and quality programs and ensure compliance across the line.
