Job summary

SSOE is seeking a Junior Process Engineer to support local clients and project teams, developing PFDs, P&IDs, process calculations, equipment specifications in early project phases and continuing through construction and commissioning. This role emphasizes collaboration, GMP-focused sanitary design, and client-facing work with contractors and vendors.

A Bachelor in Chemical Engineering and 4+ years of experience are required; ASPEN or CHEMCAD experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering; licensure in state of practice is preferred.
• 4+ years of working experience required.
• Exposure to food, beverage GMP plants and related industrial settings preferred.
• Experience with simulations software like ASPEN or CHEMCAD is a plus.
• Experience using Pipe Flo or AFT Fathom is a plus.
• Ability to work in a client-facing role with contractors and vendors.
• Experience with building codes, GMP requirements, and sanitary design.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering studies, write reports, and develop engineering calculations.
• Develop PFDs and P&IDs, process calculations, equipment specifications, and procurement support.
• Assist in creating engineering deliverables.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to complete project tasks.
• Support design and specification of CIP/COP sanitation.
• Participate in process-layout reviews for sanitary design and cross-contamination risk.
• Review vendor submittals and field installation for conformance.
• Assist in bid package creation.
• Perform field work travel up to 30% for site verification and startup support.
