Job summary

Orange EV is seeking an EV Process Engineer to lead the design, optimization, and standardization of manufacturing processes for electric vehicles. You will drive lean initiatives, develop SOPs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to scale production and improve efficiency.

You will leverage data-driven methods to investigate issues, support new product launches, and ensure processes meet cost and quality targets in a fast-growing manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Proficiency with computers and IT tools (Microsoft Suite).
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Inventor or similar 3D tools.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and improve processes in manufacturing systems.
  • Develop and implement systems optimizing production phases.
  • Improve rates, efficiencies, yields, costs, and changeovers.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing, 5S, OEE, and KPI tracking.
  • Create SOPs, work instructions, and PFDs for production teams.
  • Improve process capability and production volume while maintaining quality.
  • Evaluate designs for production and assess new products.
  • Collect, record, and transcribe production data.
  • Develop and present results in reports and dashboards.
  • Support incident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with equipment designers to develop cost-effective processes.
  • Design lean material flow with 1-piece flow, Kanban, and JIT.
  • Assist inventory accuracy via min/max and value stream mapping.

EV Process Engineer

Position Summary

The Process Engineer is responsible for analyzing, designing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. This role drives continuous improvement through lean manufacturing principles, develops standardized work documentation, and collaborates cross-functionally to implement best practices across all phases of production. The Process Engineer also leads data-driven investigations, supports new product launches, and ensures production systems are scalable, sustainable, and aligned with company goals.

Position Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and improve on processes in manufacturing systems
  • Develop and implement systems that optimize all phases of production process
  • Improve production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs, and changeovers
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, OEE, KPI’s, Time Studies and other manufacturing improvement and reporting systems
  • Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) for production teams.
  • Improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards
  • Evaluate engineering designs for production
  • Evaluate processes for new products and existing changed products
  • Collect, record, and transcribe production data
  • Develop and present results in reports
  • Provide suggestions during incident investigations
  • Investigate, advise, and implement corrective actions
  • Work with equipment designers and manufacturing officers to develop a cost-effective and working production process
  • Design and implement lean material flow systems including 1-piece flow, Kanban replenishment, and pull-based/JIT production
  • Support inventory accuracy through min/max management and value stream mapping to eliminate waste
  • Ensure projects are completed on timeResearch and purchase new manufacturing technology and equipment
Position Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in engineering or related sub-field such as Industrial, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well independently and with a team
  • Proficiency with computer and information technology
    • Microsoft suite
    • AutoCAD and Inventor or similar 3D Modeling Software
  • Thorough understanding of scientific and mathematical principles
  • Thorough understanding and use of basic manufacturing equipment and terminology
Ideal Candidates Will Also Have
  • Specialized industry-specific training
    • Lean manufacturing and 5S
    • Six sigma a plus
    • Problem Solving Methodologies
    • ERP and MES Experience
