Process Engineer
The Role
As a Process Engineer, you will support the development, implementation, and improvement of manufacturing processes. You will work with cross-functional teams to bring new processes into production, optimize existing operations, and ensure equipment and processes consistently meet quality, safety, and production goals. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, technical knowledge, and a hands-on approach to manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and improve manufacturing processes to support safe, efficient, and consistent production.
- Plan and execute engineering trials to establish process settings and operating parameters for new and existing equipment.
- Analyze production data to improve quality, throughput, equipment performance, and overall efficiency.
- Monitor process performance using key metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support equipment installation, commissioning, validation, and production startup activities.
- Perform root cause analysis and resolve process or equipment issues to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
- Lead or support Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), risk assessments, and other process improvement activities.
- Conduct Gage R&R studies, process capability studies, and statistical process control (SPC) analysis to ensure stable manufacturing processes.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including process flows, work instructions, control plans, SOPs, and process checklists.
- Collaborate with operations, quality, maintenance, engineering, and suppliers to improve manufacturing performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Occasional travel may be required to support equipment installations, supplier visits, or Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs).
Typical Deliverables
- Risk Assessments and PFMEA
- Process Flow Diagrams and Bills of Process (BOP)
- Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Control Plans and Quality Documentation
