Job summary

Travertine in Boulder, CO is seeking a Process Development Manager to lead RD&D projects in phosphate and sulfuric acid spaces, translating experimental results into scalable processes. You will manage a portfolio of development efforts, supervise engineers and technicians, and drive efficient designs under tight timelines.

The role emphasizes hands-on lab work, mass and energy balance modeling, and collaboration with process simulation engineers.

Qualifications

• MS degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of applied chemical process development/design experience.
• Proven project management experience under aggressive timelines.
• Demonstrated leadership and personnel development skills.
• Experience designing chemical experiments and validating data.
• Hands-on laboratory work with wet chemistry, spectroscopy, and mineralogical characterization.
• Experience reading PFDs and developing mass/energy balance models.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve a safe, productive, and positive work environment.
• Manage process development projects from benchtop to pilot scale.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians; train lab personnel.
• Translate process needs into work packages delivering results.
• Support design and construction of lab and pilot equipment.
• Convert lab and pilot data into inputs for process simulations.
• Review and improve PFDs and Equipment Lists.
• Troubleshoot performance issues in lab and pilot tests.
