Job summary

Travertine seeks a Process Development Manager to lead RD&D projects in phosphate and sulfuric acid space, translating experimental results into scalable processes. You will manage experimental design, pilot data, and mass/energy balances, mentoring engineers and technicians while collaborating with process simulation engineers.

The role is based at Travertine's Boulder, CO headquarters, with responsibility for prioritizing safe, efficient development and delivering high-impact process

Qualifications

• MS degree or higher in chemical, materials, metallurgical engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of applied chemical process development/design experience.
• Project management experience under aggressive timelines with diverse teams.
• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Experience in chemical experiment design, data acquisition and validation, mass balance development, and translating lab results to process design.
• Hands-on lab experience with wet chemistry, spectroscopy, and mineralogical characterization.
• Experience reading PFDs and developing mass/energy balance models.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, productive work environment.
• Oversee process development projects, including experimental plans and review of benchtop and pilot work.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians; train in lab procedures and data analysis.
• Translate process engineering needs into executable work packages.
• Support design and construction of lab and pilot test equipment.
• Convert bench and pilot data into mass/energy balance model inputs.
