Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Process Assistant to support the Area Manager and help manage daily department duties in the Fulfillment Center. You will assist with labor allocation, lead meetings, and coordinate with internal and external suppliers, while ensuring SOP compliance and safety practices.

The role involves providing vacation coverage for Area Managers, tracking labor hours, and supporting production goals.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of Microsoft Office experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift up to 49 pounds and stand for up to 12 hours.
  • Work 40 hours per week with overtime as required.

Responsibilities

  • Support and work in the department as required.
  • Coordinate labor, lead meetings, assign duties, and communicate with internal and external suppliers.
  • Provide vacation coverage for Area Managers.
  • Track and report ATS/labor hours.
  • Train associates and verify SOP compliance.
  • Monitor area performance through tracking and feedback.
  • Participate in safety initiatives and address hazards.
  • Perform production duties when needed.
  • Review and update SOPs as required.
  • Keep work area clean and organized.

The Process Assistant is assigned to the Area Manager, and will hold responsibilities specific to the different Fulfillment Center areas.

Key Job Elements
  • Support and work in the department as required
  • Helping support daily management of department duties, including allocating labor, leading meetings, assigning job duties, and communicating with internal and external suppliers
  • Providing vacation coverage for Area Managers
  • Providing policy follow-up, attendance tracking (duties do not extend to discipline)
  • Tracking and reporting of ATS/labor hours
  • Assisting the floor as an associate resource, training associates and verifying SOP compliance
  • Ensuring successful area performance, through tracking, reporting and feedback of associate performance
  • Participating in Operational Excellence initiatives in some capacity
  • Filling in as needed with production duties
  • Fully understanding workflow and daily production goals
  • Reviewing and updating SOP as required
  • Assisting in keeping work area clean and organized
  • Identifying and addressing safety hazards within the work area
  • Coaching associates to work safely at all times
  • Participating in safety initiatives
  • Referring all job injuries immediately to area manager
Basic Qualifications
  • 1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience
  • High school or equivalent
  • Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
  • Can lift up to 49 pounds, stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
  • Work 40 hours/week, and overtime as required

  • Education beyond High School, and/or prior experience managing employees
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated communication skills (written and verbal) with all levels of Amazon associates and management
  • Experience with an FC kaizen or Shingi event
  • An awareness and willingness to use OE tools and techniques
  • Experience working in Problem Solve a plus
  • Leadership ability
