ALASKA HEART INSTITUTE is seeking a Procedure Scheduling Coordinator in Anchorage to manage scheduling of appointments and procedures, answer the EP-RN hotline, and coordinate with preauthorization and surgical teams. Required are a Medical Assistant credential and at least two years of scheduling experience, preferably in cardiac or surgical settings.

A nonexempt position responsible for appropriate scheduling of appointments, answering queue calls and reviewing patient orders in the EMR. This position will require proficiency in both technical and interpersonal relationship skills needed to maintain lasting relationships with patients and families, referring physicians, AHI physicians and co-workers. The ultimate goal of this position is to provide the highest level of quality patient care and customer service.
$24–$28 per hour (dependent upon experience and education).
Education: Minimum: Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assistant with current credentials.
Experience: Minimum: Two years scheduling experience, preferably cardiac or surgery related. Minimum: Two years’ experience as a Certified Medical Assistant in a healthcare environment and one to two years’ experience in procedure scheduling in a healthcare environment.
Knowledge: Knowledge of medical terminology. Preferred: Cardiology experience.
