Job summary

Advocate Health is hiring a Control Desk Specialist in Winston-Salem, NC. This part-time, PRN role involves sending for patients, scheduling add-on and emergent cases, and serving as an administrative resource with professional communication.

You will respond to calls from patients, staff, physicians, and other customers while adhering to HIPAA guidelines and maintaining accurate transportation and scheduling records.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• Healthcare related associate or bachelor's degree desirable.
• Work experience in a hospital procedural setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Send for patients, coordinating with nursing to determine transport to the Procedure Room.
• Handle multiple calls for scheduling and posting add-on and emergent cases.
• Maintain transportation tracking records.
• Coordinate supply needs for Procedure Rooms and Labor & Delivery.
• Contact Surgical Services Scheduling Center for cancellations today and tomorrow.
• Communicate with Clinical Coordinators and Charge Nurse to keep daily schedule efficient.
• Print pick lists and patient stickers on request.
• Monitor Procedure Room access and scrub access for third party vendors.
• Communicate courteously, promptly and in HIPAA-compliant manner.
• Coordinate with Emergency Department and Birth Center for OB/GYN data in emergent cases.
