San Bernardino County is seeking Probation Assistants to support sworn staff with routine, non-sworn tasks across the Probation Department. Candidates must meet education and experience options, with flexible availability including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

Graduation from a U.S. high school, G.E.D. or equivalent.
Two years of full-time clerical and data entry experience in an office environment.
One year of clerical/data entry in a Probation Department or related field.
Thirty semester/forty-five quarter units in psychology, sociology, criminology, or related behavioral science.

Responsibilities

Support probation sworn staff with routine, non-sworn tasks while maintaining confidentiality.
Interview adult and juvenile clients referred for pretrial services or probation supervision; obtain information for forms and reports.
Coordinate, track, and research departmental programming and services; perform data management and documentation tasks.
Assist with evaluation of program effectiveness and with community-based organizations in program delivery.
