Job summary

The Ministry of Justice, within the Probation Service Directorate, is seeking an administrative professional to provide first point of contact for visitors and manage reception duties and office-based activities.

The post holder will work with the team to deliver a range of administrative support services, handle mail, PPE orders, room bookings, and assist with health and safety tasks, including fire alarm tests and emergencies.

Qualifications

• Provide first point of contact for visitors, telephone callers and email enquiries.
• Support reception duties and handle a range of administrative tasks.
• Log visits, issue passes and ensure staff are notified as needed.
• Assist with mail, PPE, stationery, room bookings and events.
• Support health and safety and building security measures.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for Probation Service and greet visitors professionally.
• Answer enquiries related to the Probation Service and local support services.
• Manage building logistics, mail, stock, meeting rooms, and event registration.
• Handle petty cash, transport of funds, and travel warrants as required.
• Assist in health and safety tasks, fire/alarm testing, and risk assessments where trained.
