Job summary

State of Iowa is seeking a Probation/Parole Officer 2 to supervise probation, parole, and pretrial release across Cedar and Muscatine counties. The role starts with three days in Cedar County and involves a varied Monday–Friday schedule with county-wide coordination.

The position includes supervising interstate compact cases, handling sex offender caseloads, and applying risk/need assessment tools to craft tailored case plans and home checks.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in any field.
• Total of four years of education and/or full-time experience in a human services or criminal justice field, where 30 semester hours equals one year.
• 18 months of full-time Probation/Parole Officer 1 experience in the state executive branch.

Responsibilities

• Supervise probation, parole, and pretrial release with supervision.
• Supervise interstate compact cases with a caseload spanning low to medium risk.
• Administer assessments to identify risk, need and responsivity and develop case plans.
• Maintain detailed case files with client contacts and cooperate with stakeholders.
