Job summary

131 DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS invites applications for Probation and Parole Officer. This on-site, full-time position in Region II performs community supervision, criminogenic assessment, and transition plan design to promote public safety.

The role requires knowledge of evidence-based practices, caseload management, and communication with offenders, families, and service providers. Salary levels for the three tiers are posted and non negotiable; benefits follow state policy.

Qualifications

• Experience in probation or parole supervision.
• Knowledge of criminogenic risk assessment.
• Strong report writing and interviewing skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of adult felons using motivational interviewing to assess criminogenic needs and determine stage of change for identified needs.
• Refer offenders to appropriate treatment programs and monitor adherence to transition plans and conditions.
• Prepare reports on offender activities and provide recommendations to releasing authorities.
• Maintain documentation of offender caseload including electronic records and payments.
