Qualifications

• 12 credit hours in behavioral or social sciences or internship (150 hours) or 1 year full-time client interaction experience.
• Criminal justice knowledge from coursework or training (6+ credit hours or 6 months in CJ system).
• Ability to identify social or human resources to fit client needs.
• Ability to use basic PC operations (entry, retrieval, storage of data).
• Experience writing detailed reports with college courses or internships or 6 months in social services or law enforcement.
• Experience managing caseloads with conflicting priorities.
• Willingness to work with individuals with criminal backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Counsel clients on problems including addiction, finances, relationships, employment, education, and legal issues.
• Design and implement client case plans and monitor progress.
• Engage in effective interventions with clients.
• Write reports and investigations relevant to the client’s case.
• Investigate behaviors, violations, employment, and residence of clients.
• Arrest probationers/parolees when needed and collect evidence.
• Conduct home visits and coordinate with treatment providers.
