Qualifications

  • Two or more years of experience in PRA or nuclear operations.
  • Minimum five years of professional post-degree experience for Career Practitioner.
  • Minimum eight years of professional post-degree experience for Consulting Practitioner.

Responsibilities

  • Develop skills and knowledge to advise Nuclear Division personnel on PRA issues.
  • Participate in plant program groups that use risk insights.
  • Evaluate plant design and licensing changes for their impact on plant risk.
  • Perform PRA model maintenance and risk-informed applications independently.
  • Learn, maintain, and document Callaway PRA models.
  • Assist in evaluations of plant events risk significance.
  • Interact with the NRC for information and technical representation.
  • Consult on qualitative and quantitative nuclear safety matters.
  • Assume Emergency Response Organization duties.

About the Position

The Probabilistic Risk Assessment Associate Practitioner learns, maintains, and applies PRA models to support safe and cost-effective operation of the Callaway Energy Center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop skills and knowledge to advise Nuclear Division personnel on PRA issues.
  • Participate in plant program groups that use risk insights (e.g., Maintenance Rule Expert Panel).
  • Evaluate plant design and licensing changes to determine their quantitative impact on plant risk.
  • Perform PRA model maintenance and risk-informed applications independently.
  • Learn, maintain, and document Callaway PRA models.
  • Assist in evaluations to determine the risk significance of plant events.
  • Interact with the NRC to provide requested information and technical representation for Callaway assessments.
  • Consult with nuclear division personnel on qualitative and quantitative nuclear safety matters.
  • Assume Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duties in accordance with the RERP.
Qualifications
  • Associate Practitioner: Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Advanced Mathematics, Engineering Technology, or a related field. Two or more years of experience in PRA or nuclear operations.
  • Career Practitioner: Bachelor’s degree plus minimum five years of professional post‑degree experience in PRA or nuclear operations.
  • Consulting Practitioner: Bachelor’s degree plus minimum eight years of professional post‑degree experience in PRA or nuclear operations.
  • Advanced PRA methods, communication, leadership, and mentoring skills preferred.
  • Security screening required for Callaway Energy Center access.
Working Conditions

Standard day shift in an office/plant/field setting. Additional hours, callouts, and rotating shifts may be required during refueling outages and emergent plant activities as needed.

Compensation Range

$60,600.00 – $172,200.00. Base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package that includes additional rewards such as annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
