Job summary

Ameren’s Callaway Energy Center seeks a Probabilistic Risk Assessment Engineer to develop, maintain, and apply PRA models supporting safe and cost-effective plant operation. This is an active pipeline for a future opening.

Responsibilities include advising on PRA, evaluating changes, implementing PRA techniques, and performing risk evaluations. Strong leadership and communication are required; security screening applies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• Three or more years in Probabilistic Risk Assessment, Systems Engineering or Operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Advise Nuclear Division personnel on PRA issues and participate in risk-informed panels.
• Evaluate design and licensing changes for quantitative impact on plant risk.
• Implement PRA-based techniques to optimize programs at Callaway Energy Center.
• Perform PRA evaluations to determine risk significance of plant events and liaise with NRC as needed.
• Develop and maintain Callaway PRA models for operation and maintenance risk.
• Consult on qualitative and quantitative nuclear risk topics (Maintenance Rule, MSPI, risk-informed licensing).
• Develop and maintain department PRA procedures.
• Assume ERO duties per RERP and respond within required time.
